Darin sent me this really cool link about making tilt-shift lens effects in photoshop, and tonight I had a few plays with it. What do you think? Do they look like models? These are just the first few experiments, but I really dig the effect and plan to play lots more. Check out the flickr collection, and here is a cool article about the tiltshift lens master, Olivio Barbieri.
I’m also currently really impressed with the HDR photography results using this great program Photomatix. I downloaded the trial version and had great fun playing. Unfortunately the saved images have software watermarks all over them coz I’m using the trial version so I won’t bother uploading them here. I will definitely be working on this one more once I buy the program (certainly much cheaper than CS2 which can also do this). I want to make more pictures like The Time Travellers Wife. It is just so beautiful, this is the sort of photography I want to be producing some time soon. Timeless, mysterious, lush, achingly beautiful… God there is so much to learn it’s totally daunting. Exposure blending, tone mapping…. arghhhhh. Time for a drink.
