This blog began in November 2002, just prior to my departure to Japan at the url frangipani.info. It became my lifeline to sanity as I wrote about living in the surreal surrounds of a non-English speaking, highly structured and utterly hilarious Asian country. It opened up a world of opportunities for me, and helped me meet most of my great friends in Tokyo.

I left Japan in early 2009 for a small beachside town in tropical north Queensland, Australia, and took a short break from blogging. But writing is in my blood and I love sharing my life and photographs with friends now scattered around the world. Keeps me feeling plugged in.
