Howdy and welcome to frangipani 2.0! It looks kinda familiar doesn’t it. I didn’t want to lose the colour scheme.
The site is – at this point – still full of bugs, which is to be expected with the import of such a massive database from one system to another…. I’m working on it, but in the meantime, let me know if you find anything askew.

This blog began in November 2002, just prior to my departure to Japan at the url frangipani.info. It became my lifeline to sanity as I wrote about living in the surreal surrounds of a non-English speaking, highly structured and utterly hilarious Asian country. It opened up a world of opportunities for me, and helped me meet most of my great friends in Tokyo.
I left Japan in 2009 for a small beachside town in tropical north Queensland, Australia, and took a break from blogging. But writing is in my blood and I love sharing my life and photographs with friends now scattered around the world. Keeps me feeling plugged in.

I’ve been a reader since about 2003 or so….I had wanted to live in Tokyo for a very long time and finally decided I didn’t want to. But I found your blog along with 35degrees, chipple.net, pinku and others around the same time. Something about your writing voice spoke to me the strongest, and have always loved visiting and reading to find out what you’re up to.
I don’t think I really left a comment..can’t remember if I did. But I wish you luck in your new home.
Thanks for dropping by to leave a comment, S. I had high hopes to be a regular blogger again but as you can see, it’s all still quite haphazard. Your comment has definitely hit home though and I remember fondly how I used to write, and write so often. I love writing, it’s so therapeutic. I took a look at your blog, became a subscriber too. I love bike riding. Now I have a car again I rarely ride my bike anymore, and I miss it…
