Got a phone call yesterday from the good people at the Head On Portrait Prize with the great news that the photo above, of Tokyo based burlesque dancerĀ Cherry Typhoon, made it through to the final 40 and will become part of the exhibition at the Australia Centre For Photography in Sydney, from April 30.
I am beyond excited.
Sadly I am up to my eyeballs in 14 hour days as event co-ordinator for Port Douglas Carnivale and won’t have much of a chance to drag my poor old neglected website kicking and screaming into April 2010 to show off my better photos to the inevitable traffic that will come looking. I’ve been neglecting my photography (as one does when working stupid hours in another industry) but this lovely event serves as a timely reminder that photography is truly my first creative love and passion and that I mustn’t stray too far away from the lens.
Thanks for the thrill, Mosche.
