Tracey and Ashley met and fell in love in Tokyo back when I was still living there. I remember hearing that they’d become a couple and how delighted we all were. The years rolled on and one day I received a mysterious invitation from Ashley to attend a surprise dinner for he and Tracey. I couldn’t go but knew it must have been some big announcement. Sure enough, they texted me from the party announcing that he had proposed to her that day and she had, of course, accepted. It was all very romantic and wonderful.
I shot their engagement photos before leaving Japan. Sadly I was no longer living in Tokyo when they got married, but much to everyone’s delight they decided to hold a Marriage Blessing Ceremony in Adelaide for their family and friends who had been unable to get to the wedding. They asked me if I could attend as their photographer and well, of course I said a big yes!
So in January this year I flew down to South Australian capital to be a part of their big day. It was a pretty special time for all, despite the almost unbearable heat of 43 degrees! Tracey confessed, months later, that she and Ash had just found out that she was pregnant and that the whole day had been fraught with nausea and light headedness, but being the supa-trooper that she is, no-one suspected a thing! The ceremony was held in the pretty gardens at Chloe’s and then we all moved inside the historic old building for the party featuring live music, hooping, bubbles, dancing and hilarity!
Here are a handful of the snaps I shot that fun day.
Tracey and Ashley, love youz! xo
