I was lucky enough to become involved in the Tokyo Burlesque Scene through my work as the photographer for the Tokyo Dr Sketchy’s group. In the last month before I left Japan to return to Australia, the stars of the scene and I began a photographic collaboration that will hopefully lead us all to bigger and better things. Here are some teaser shots from those sessions….

Burlesque is such a great subject, isn’t it? Let me know when you’re coming to Seattle, because we have the same Dr Sketchy’s-burlesque connection here.
Dr Sketchy’s at Trump Room. Inspired!
Hi Martine,
I found your blog and your website throgh it, really nice work you have here.
I was interested in your Burlesque work, one of my friends, Paule Saviano, a photographer from New York did an exhibition in Asakusa at gallery EF on American Burlesque dancers and the show went through China and Europe as well. Through him I met Cherry Typhoon and we photographed Erochika Bamboo in the Trump room http://web.mac.com/willrobbphotography/iWeb/Site/People.html as well. Small world.
I really enjoyed your photos, I will be back.
Thanks
Will
